It’s been a busy few months with the Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) for Wiley, preparing the current QAS site for construction while finalising the design of the replacement Coral Gardens Ambulance Station, located at Mermaid Waters on the Gold Coast.
The ambulance station has become outdated and too small to accommodate current and anticipated growth for the area. As part of the works, the replacement station will include nine ambulance bays, plus a basement carpark. Valued at $4.7 million, the station is due for completion by mid 2018.
Project update:
• Sheet piling has been completed for ground retention in the car park, ready for excavation
• Bulk excavation in carpark has been completed
• Screw piling has commenced and the basement floor slab construction will follow immediately after
• 100% of the construction issue documentation is complete and building approval has been issued.
This project is being designed and built in parallel to speed up delivery. The ground preparation is partially completed.
The replacement station will assist the QAS to meet the demands for ambulance services in Mermaid Waters and surrounding districts.
