Target 100 is an initiative by Australian cattle and sheep farmers, along with the broader industry, to deliver sustainable cattle and sheep farming by 2020. It was launched in March 2012 with the support of renowned environmentalist, former Australian of the Year and Chief Commissioner for the Climate Commission, Professor Tim Flannery and chef, and nose to tail advocate, Justin North.

The website outlines 100 research, development and extension initiatives covering issues such as, water, biodiversity, climate variability, soil & groundcover, emissions, social and economic issues. These initiatives have been funded through industry bodies to continually improve the sustainability of their operations and products.
The site also has an interactive map with pins highlighting individual farmers by location. These pins link you to the directory of participating farmers and the descriptions of how they are applying sustainable methods to their processes.
This growing community is committed to harnessing the latest technology and science to reduce the red meat footprint. Apart from this, they are also about sharing good ideas, celebrating successes and providing a focal point for environmental, social and ethical farming action to ensure a sustainable food source.
